Good morning Holly,
I can concurr on every bit of experience you have had with your dog rolling in the dead!
The smell makes me dry heave . My dog had a field day this morning with that!
I was in my brothers house and had my dog out in his well groomed back yard. But lone-behold , a dead skunk!!!!!!! and bam! my dog was in it for the glory of the scent.
I had to take him back home in my car, yes with the windows all rolled down and him smelling like the dead......I was gagging the whole way home. I threw him right into the tub and washed him off. Scrubbed his big white body til he was so sad....TO BAD PUPPY! man oh man. So now he is all fresh and clean with only a slight hint of the outside on him. I threw away his collar and I am going to PET SMART today for a new one. I am NOT putting that one back on even if i clean it cuz the image of dead animal guts caught in his dog tags was enough for me!
BUT I know how you feel about being happy about taking crae of your doggie cuz you love her as I do mine, and its a feeling of being the mummie and solving a very smelly problem.

Enjoy your dog and give her a hug for me.
Sincerely;
Susie G and dog Nietzsche.
